Xiaomi Mix Fold 2

In the realm of foldable phones, Samsung has always reigned supreme, but with the release of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2, they may have some serious competition on their hand. As expected of the Mix series, Xiaomi has all the latest tech included in the phone and has used it to showcase how advanced their technology has become.

Overall, the design of the new Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is not very different from the Fold 1, but specific key tweaks have been made to the phone’s structure. Therefore, it is now much lighter and thinner than its predecessor. The screen measures just 5.4mm thin and, when closed, is 11mm, much thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, which measures 14.2 to 15.8mm when closed and 6.3mm when unfolded.

The phone’s design speaks to the amount of effort that has been put into its making. Xiaomi says that they tried out many alternate chassis and hinges to ensure that the phone was as thin as possible.

The outer screen of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 shows off a 6.56-inch AMOLED screen, which, when opened, turns into an 8.02-inch screen using an Eco OLED panel. Both of these screens have a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and HDR 10+.

Under the fancy screens, the internals is no less. Xiaomi has fitted the phone with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Qualcomm’s latest chip in all of the best Android phones. There is also a 4500mAh battery that charges at 67W.

The base variant of the phone comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Other versions come with 512GB of storage and 1TB of storage as well.

At the back of the phone are a 50MP Sony IMX766 lens, a 13MP wide-angle lens, and an 8MP zoom module. The outer screen has a 20MP lens and a camera cutout, while the larger inner screen does not have any camera cutout. Instead, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 has an under-screen camera module.
