POCO Reveals Their New Budget Phones

In recent years POCO has really stepped up their game with gaming phones and has started offering sets with decent gaming specs while also being pocket friendly. Their most recent phones in the M line continue this tradition.

POCO is a Xiaomi sub-brand that has recently announced its brand new POCO M5 and POCO M5s. These two phones are powerful devices enabling you to easily game and vlog on them. Each of these devices has its own use. However, since these phones are cheap, POCO had to cut some corners to stay true to its word.

These phones will be available for purchase in Europe from September 6th and will start at €210 for the M5s and €190 for the regular M5 model. One of the ways that the company has cut corners is by not making the devices 5G compatible.

The M5s is the more expensive of the two, yet it comes with MediaTek’s Helio G95. It also has 6GB RAM, which you can expand to 8GBs through a virtual RAM expansion feature, which would be extremely useful for gamers and vloggers alike. The M5s have internal storage of 128GB, which can be further expanded to 1TB through a microSD card.

The phones feature a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, which is covered with Corning gorilla glass 3 to protect the screen underneath, and a DotDrop design. However, the screen does not have a 90Hz refresh rate found in the standard model and is thus not as smooth.

The phones make up for the displays in terms of the cameras. The primary camera has a 64MP sensor that can record 4K videos alongside three other cameras, including an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and two 2MP macro and depth sensors. The front camera has a 13MP camera.

Compared with other phones, the M5s is technically a rebranded Redmi Note 10s, launched last year. That phone had a 5000mAh battery and also supported 33W fast charging. However, the new POCO M5 is a much better experience in terms of performance.
