2023 Will Be a Huge Year for the PS5, According to PlayStation

PlayStation has recently teased that 2023 will hold brand-new games and hardware for the PS5, so fans should look forward to what they have in store. Up until recently, PlayStation has kept quiet about its plans for the new year.

In 2022, the company released major games for their console, including Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok, which are both critically-acclaimed games. However, the company has not yet released what games will be coming to the console. Instead, they have teased fans with titles they can look forward to in the new year.

PlayStation will be kicking off the new year with the release of Square Enix’s Forespoken, which is an open-world action RPG. This PlayStation 5 console-exclusive game is expected to release on January 24, becoming the first major PS5 release of the year.

In February, PS5 gamers will be able to play Hogwarts Legacy. This game is a highly-anticipated open-world Harry Potter game. Hogwarts Legacy has a PS4 version in the works, so those with an older device won’t miss out on it. This game is expected to be released on February 10. However, those with a PS4 will have to wait until April 4 to enjoy it firsthand.

Later in the year, PlayStation 5 owners can also look forward to the release of Marvel’s Spiderman 2. This game is a sequel to Insomniac’s PlayStation-exclusive Spiderman game. Spiderman 2 is a highly anticipated game, as fans will see Peter Parker team up with Miles Morales. The game is also expected to feature an iconic Spiderman anti-hero, Venom, in a major role.

Details for the Spiderman game are sparse, meaning fans will have to wait till the launch date to know more. PlayStation is reportedly aiming to release the game in the fall of 2023, so new news about it should be coming soon.

Besides all the different video games, the PS5 will reportedly launch new hardware, including new DualSense Edge Controllers and the PlayStation VR2 headset. The controllers are reportedly an answer to Xbox’s Elite Controller as it is pricier and comes with many cool features. The company is also finally launching the PlayStation VR2 headset on February 22.

With the headset’s release, it will be interesting to see how the PlayStation VR2 games will hold up and whether or not they live up to the hype.
