Poco has just debuted its brand new mid-range smartphone X5 series that consists of two phones; the Poco X5 and the Poco X5 Pro. These phones have decent specs for the price, including a super smooth screen with a high refresh rate, a mid-range Snapdragon processor, and a large battery. Poco claims that with the X5 series, you can have the flagship experience at a mid-range price, but the pricing has not yet been revealed.
The X5 and X5 Pro prices will presumably vary based on the phone you choose and the storage level. The base Poco X5 will be the cheaper model, and the base RAM and storage are expected to be 6GB and 128GB, respectively. The more expensive models will pack in 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
In terms of the screen, the Poco X5 and the X5 Pro have a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 2400 x 1080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The only difference is that the Pro model’s screen is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. In contrast, the standard variant’s screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The Pro and the standard also have different cameras. One of the biggest selling points of the Pro model is that it has a 1080MP primary camera which is not a common feature on budget phones. Such a camera has been seen on Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra and S22 Ultra.
On the standard model, there is a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 2MP macro sensor. Besides the primary camera, the Pro model has the same ultra-wide shooter and macro sensor. The Pro model also has a 16MP selfie camera, while the base model only has a 13MP one.
On the inside, the Poco X5 Pro comes with an eight-core 6nm-based Snapdragon 778G chipset, and the Snapdragon 695 SoC powers the X5. Both variants also come with the same battery, which is a 5000mAh one. The Pro model supports 67W fast charging, while the regular variant supports 33W. According to Poco, the Pro model’s battery is capable of being charged up to 30% in just 7 minutes. On the other hand, the base model needs just 68 minutes to be fully charged.
