Google Pixel Fold - Every Leaked Detail

After years of speculation, Google’s folding phone is finally set to release in 2023. Although it is easy to be skeptical because leakers have been claiming that the phone is coming since 2021, this time, there are actual renders of the phone, which suggest that Google is past the prototype phase and has most likely settled on a design. Additionally, the delay of the Pixel Watch and its eventual launch proves that Google tends to gestate products for years before they reveal them.

Recently, there have been reports from The Elec, which indicate that Google intends to mass-produce the Fold in July or August 2023. This suggests that the launch will be a fall 2023 launch closer to the expected release of the Pixel 8 and Android 14 and after that of the Galaxy Z Fold 5. With so many disappointments over the years, it is easy to lose hope. Still, many other products have faced the same delays before their eventual release.

Many rumors suggest that Google will try to undercut the Z Fold series in terms of prices by selling the Pixel Notepad for $400 less than the Galaxy Z Fold, which means it will cost around $1400. Google has previously used this strategy with the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, priced at $599 and $899, respectively. However, some rumors suggest that the Pixel Fold will cost $1799, putting it at the same price as the Galaxy Z Fold series.

In terms of the phone’s design, two different design leaks have given a clear impression of what the Google Pixel Notepad will look like. When unfolded, the phone will have the same squarish look as the OPPO Find N, which is wider than the Galaxy Z Fold 4. On the rear, the phone will have a camera module similar to the Pixel 7 Pro. However, due to the more squarish look, the phone will look more like a phablet than a phone.

Another design leak from OnLeaks reaffirms the previous Frontpagetech renders. It shows the Google Pixel Fold to have a 7.68-inch inner display with a 5.79-inch cover display. These dimensions also align with a DSCC leak that suggests that the Fold design will have a 7.6-inch internal display and a 21.6:18 aspect ratio with a 5.8-inch external display.
