Google Pixel Fold - Release Confirmed

Although the Google Pixel Fold seems plausible, many are skeptical that it will ever be released to the public. Previously leakers promised a fall 2021 release and a fall 2022 release, neither of which happened. Now online leakers insist that the Google Pixel Fold will be released in early 2023.

Those suspicious of the release are correct in doing so because Google is known to miss its own deadlines, but they do eventually release them. One example is the Pixel Watch which arrived in the smartwatch scene after years of delay. Those hopeful that Google will release the Pixel Fold expect a similar dramatic reveal in 2023. This release may be paired with the Pixel Tablet.

Foldable phones have been around for some time. Popular companies such as Xiaomi, Motorola, Huawei, and Samsung have launched several generations of foldable phones. You can find expensive and more economical phones depending on the features you are looking for. As Google is late to the party, the Pixel Fold has a lot of competition and will need to prove itself if it wants to make a name for itself in the foldable phone market.

There are many established devices, such as the Galaxy Z Fold. To be considered a solid competitor, the Pixel Fold will need to surpass in at least a few aspects. Therefore, there is no leeway for experimentation and failure. Google will have to create a perfect foldable phone in their attempt. Due to being late in the market, they cannot experiment with different mechanisms and designs like Samsung and other companies could.

Recently, Rick Young, the DSCC CEO, announced that Google would begin the production process of their foldable phones in Q3 2022. Therefore, the release will be around Q4 2022. However, the Pixel Fold was noticeably missing from the I/O 2022 event, where many future Google hardware, such as the Pixel Tablet. However, sources from Google operations have confidently revealed that the phone will be shipping in 2023.

With the popularity of the name Fold due to the Samsung Z Flip, Pixel has allegedly decided to choose Notepad. Previously the name Logbook had also been considered.
