GTA 6’s Release Window Narrowed Thanks to a New Report

Grand Theft Auto 6 is due out next year, and fans are hoping for more information on when the game will be released. It’s possible that details from Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, the business that developed Grand Theft Auto 6, accidentally revealed a more precise release date for the much-awaited sequel than the generic “2025.”  A recent financial report may provide some answers.

Among the most anticipated titles in the near future, if not in gaming history, is Grand Theft Auto 6. Ten years passed between GTA 5’s release and the announcement of its successor, which stoked a lot of rumors and leaks and raised expectations. In December, Rockstar officially revealed the first glimpse at Grand Theft Auto VI, announcing that the game will arrive in 2025 with a record-breaking announcement trailer. After an extended delay, many fans are relieved to have a release window, but others are probably eager to find out more about the precise debut date inside that larger range.

Industry experts Nick McKay and Michael Pachter, as reported by VGC, indicate that Grand Theft Auto 6 is unlikely to be published in early 2025 based on Take-Two Interactive’s recent changes to their financial forecast. Take-Two decreased their $8 billion fiscal year 2025 target to $7 billion. The huge financial potential of Grand Theft Auto 6 combined with this shift, according to analysts, suggests that the game was originally scheduled for release in early 2025 but has most likely been delayed past that date.

Although the financial changes point to a possible delay into early 2025, experts McKay and Pachter stress that a complete postponement of Grand Theft Auto 6 beyond 2025 is unlikely. Rather, they expect a later release that still happens to be in the same year, maybe in September or October, which is when most big GTA games are usually released. It is not yet known which month the launch will take place.

Apart from the 2025 release window, the Grand Theft Auto 6 revelation revealed important facts including the return of Vice City, which is modeled after Miami, and the presence of two protagonists, one of whom is the first female protagonist in the franchise. Officially, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will get the game. In keeping with previous trends, the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 6 is anticipated to launch after the console versions.
