This summer is all about foldable phones, and OnePlus is not too behind as it guns for the title of the best foldable phone on the market. However, before the company could reveal information about the phone, several important pieces of information leaked, revealing the phone’s specifications. These leaks were posted by Twitter tipster Shishir, who unveiled the rumored specifications of the OnePlus V Fold as the launch date of the phone approaches.
The leaks included the V Fold possibly having an 8-inch QHD+ 120Hz LTPO display (internal) and a 6.5-inch FHD+ 120Hz external display. The Chinese OEM’s first foldable phone may also be powered by the latest Qualcomm chip, the Snapdragon 8 gen 2 SoC. Furthermore, consumers may get a faux leather back with a new circular camera array on the back.
For the specs, the phone is expected to have a triple camera set up with an IMX980 50MP primary lens, a 48MP ultrawide lens, and a 64MP 3x periscope lens. The front-facing selfie camera is expected to be 32MP for high-resolution selfies. It is expected that OnePlus will continue its partnership with Hasselblad for its cameras. Still, it is uncertain and will only be confirmed when the device finally launches. On the inside, the phone will come with a 4800mAh battery with 80W fast-charging capabilities.
Lastly, one of OnePlus’ most popular features, the alert slider, will be making its way onto the V Fold. According to SmartPrix’s information about the device’s hardware, the new OnePlus V Fold is rumored to have faux leather back with a circular camera array with the camera flash nestled in the top left corner of the back of the device. The front-facing selfie appears on the top left of the large 8-inch internal display on the alleged renders.
The slim bezels on the Pixel 8 model are also worth mentioning since the Pixel Fold has large bezels, which has been a topic of conversation recently. There are also rumors that Oneplus has chosen to incorporate the fingerprint scanner into the phone’s power button instead of opting for an in-display fingerprint reader.
