Leaked Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip

The foldable market is quite active these days, with multiple leaked renders, confirmed phones, and innovative designs. Recently, Samsung’s expected foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Z Flip 5’s designs, were leaked online. This leak came from tipster OnLeaks, who, in collaboration with Smartprix, offered a closer look at the two devices and what they may look like ahead of their launch. The company has not confirmed the launch, but rumors suggest an early June launch.

The leaked renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 greatly resemble the Galaxy Z Fold 4 from last year, as it has the same camera array and a taller color display. The only difference is the gap between the screens when folded. Compared to older designs, the phone is relatively minimal. The device’s dimensions are 154.9 x 67.1 x 13.5mm when folded and 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.3mm when unfolded. Another notable difference is the reduced thickness of the upcoming Z Fold 5. Compared to the Z Fold 4’s 14.2 to 25.8mm thickness, the newer model is only 13.5mm thick.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 renders were leaked by OnLeaks, who paired with MediaPeanut to reveal renders for this device. Samsung has seemingly switched up the Galaxy Z Flip cover display to keep up with the competitors. Compared to the 1.9-inch cover display on the Galaxy Z Flip 4, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have a much larger screen. There also seems to be a small section that extends beside the dual camera to make the most of the real estate on the phone.

This new screen measures around 3.4 inches, making it slightly bigger than the one on OPPO’s Find N2 and other similar clamshell phones. This new larger screen will add more functionality as it can be used for more than just looking at the time and looking at notifications. The larger screen will also make it easier to operate. On the front, the Z Flip 5 will reportedly measure 6.7 inches and look the same as its predecessor.

2023 has been huge for foldable phones as new participants like OnePlus join in on the race and current players like Vivo, Motorola, and Oppo release newer and better models than ever before.
