After the release of the Motorola Edge 40 renders over the weekend, the leakers didn’t take long to dig out the renders of the new Motorola device, the Moto G 5G (2023). These renders come from SnoopyTech, who shared these official-looking renders on their Twitter account, also revealing the different colorways of the new phone. The device seemingly has a simple yet striking design, which gives this mid-range Android phone a more premium look.
These alleged Moto G 5G renders show significant changes the company has made from last year’s Moto G 5G, such as the new camera module. This new camera island is popping up on all the latest Motorola phones this year, including the Moto G Power. The design change makes the rear of the Motorola phones look a lot more pleasant as it is less protruding and more flush with the body on the back. The Moto G 5G renders reveal a 48 MP primary camera alongside a secondary lens. This will likely be a macro or depth sensor.
Other than these tiny yet prominent changes, the device has an overall squared-off look to it, with metal frames and rounded corners. The phone has a USB-C connector for charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Moto G 5G 2023 is an immediate successor to the Moto G 5G 2022. It offers a much better battery life and performance within the same respectable budget.
There is not a lot of information on the device, as customers only know of its existence through leaks and rumors. It is expected to be powered by another MediaTek chipset, like the Dimensity 800 series, to keep the price down. The launch date has also not been released, but since last year’s model went on sale in May, the company is expected to release the phone very soon.
As for its global launch, the Moto G 5G may launch in the US next to the Motorola Edge 40, which just launched. Motorola may also choose to launch it alongside the Moto Razr 2023, their foldable smartphone, as a cheaper and simpler alternative for people who don’t want a fancy foldable.
