With the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the existence of the OnePlus 11 became confirmed. Since then, the company has been teasing its next flagship, and they have finally released the launch date, but there is a catch. Oneplus has decided to release this phone on its home ground first.

In a recent post on Weibo, the OnePlus 11 was teased to the customers alongside a launch date. This date was set for 4th January 2023, and like its predecessors, the launch is slated to take place in China first. As previously announced, international customers, including the Indian and UK market, will have to wait until February for the global launch.

The phone’s design is well known to the user thanks to leaked renders that surfaced online. The company further confirmed these leaks as the teasers for the design look almost identical to the leaks. The major design change that customers noticed was the camera module. In previous phones, OnePlus had a regular rectangular camera module. With the OnePlus 11, the company seems to be switching things up. The camera is now in a circular form factor and features a triple camera setup.

The cameras in this setup are expected to be a 50MP primary lens, a 48MP ultra-wide wide-angle camera, and a 32MP telephoto sensor. The phone will also likely have a massive 5000mAh battery alongside OnePlus’ proprietary 100W fast charging support.

This design is reminiscent of the OnePlus 10 Pro, but the company claims the new camera module will blend seamlessly into the device’s metal frame. This design aesthetic was first seen by the Galaxy S21 Ultra and a few other devices. The teaser also confirmed leaks claiming that the popular alert slider was back. OnePlus called this the “return of an icon,” as it had been a favorite among OnePlus users.

The main pull towards this device, apart from the camera, is its internals. The phone is set to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, Qualcomm’s most powerful chip. It will also have 16GB of RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, and LPDDR5X. The screen is expected to have a sizeable QHD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate.
