OnePlus 12 - Leaked Specs Reveal a Phone To Look Forward To

Among the many smartphones being released this year, the OnePlus 12 is among the most anticipated ones. Recently, some leaks have surfaced online which reveal alleged specs about this new phone, giving customers a lot to be excited about.

These leaks come from Steve Hemmerstoffer, also known as OnLeaks, who revealed that the OnePlus 12 will offer ‘best-in-class hardware,’ which could give it an edge over all the other Android phones. The phone will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is expected to launch in October, this year. This chip choice does not come as a surprise, but depending on when this phone launches, it could be the first to use it.

The OnePlus 12 is also rumored to use just 16Gb of LPDDR5X RAM, which will help its performance greatly. Additionally, it will also have 256Gb of ISF 4.0 storage.

The display for this phone will likely be a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel, with a 2K resolution. If previous leaks are to be believed, then the OnePlus 12 is receiving a major design, with the selfie camera being moved to the center.

On the rear of the phone, the OnePlus 12 will likely have a 50 MP primary camera sensor and a 64 MP 3X telephoto camera. Interestingly, there was no mention of a periscope camera in this leak. The alert slider, a popular feature of OnePlus devices also seems to be present.

Upon its launch, the OnePlus 12 is expected to run on Oxygen OS 14, which is an Android 14-based program. Under the hood, the leaks suggest that the phone will have a 5400 mAh battery, with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support. Although this is not the fastest OnePlus phone, it is still way faster than any other Android phone on the market.

In regards to the timeline of this phone, leaker Yogesh Brar revealed that it will likely launch in China first. A global launch is expected to happen next year, in February.

If the OnePlus 12 does launch in February, it will be the biggest competitor for the Galaxy S24 in the US. Since OnePlus Open, their foldable phone is expected to launch in August, the company will be giving Samsung some much-needed competition.
