The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) officially announced the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) ban on Wednesday, July 01, 2020, which has stroke a wave of uncertainty and confusion amongst the millions of PUBG fans in Pakistan.
According to PTA’s notification, PUBG is banned after receiving numerous complaints about PUBG being an addictive game, a wastage of time, and also causing severe physical and psychological health negative impact on players, especially children.
Here is the official Tweet By PTA
This ban is not the first time that a country is banning PUBG. PUBG has previously been banned (temporarily and permanently) by India, China, Nepal, and Iraq. There were also rumors about India banning PUBG along with the 59 other widely popular apps that they have banned due to the China India disputes. However, the authorities have denied the rumors, so Indian PUBG fans can still enjoy their favorite PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG).
As this is a temporary ban, all eyes are on July 09, 2020, when the Lahore High Court will conduct a hearing, and the duration of this ban will be determined. However, PUBG fans can save their favorite game from a permanent ban in Pakistan by providing feedback through consultation-pubg@pta.gov.pk by July 10, 2020.
