Cyberpunk 2077 has a new physical edition that is intended for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, according to an early shop listing. This new information supports the rumors that have been circulating recently regarding the possible release of a Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition.
Cyberpunk 2077 will celebrate three years since its first release on December 10. The new RPG from CD Projekt Red was not without its difficulties, especially because of serious technical problems with consoles from the previous generation. Due to these problems, Xbox kept selling the game with performance warnings while Sony removed it from the PlayStation Store for some time. It was recently revealed by CDPR that more than $125 million was spent on fixing the problems with Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way from its first troublesome release, notably with Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion. Reddit user YMHNaiken first noticed the appearance of a new physical edition for current-generation devices on the website of Dutch retailer Coolshop. Although Phantom Liberty and the previously leaked Ultimate Edition aren’t mentioned specifically in the catalog, the fact that there hasn’t been a physical release for the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S before makes it very likely that this recently discovered product is the full version of the dystopian role-playing game.
For €45.95, the European shop is now taking pre-orders for Cyberpunk 2077, a version that was not previously revealed. It is expected to be released on November 30. This news coincides with Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition receiving a PEGI rating in the first part of October. Although the two most recent leaks came from European sources, there’s a good chance this game version will be released globally if it is in development.
However, CD Projekt Red’s decision to release a full version of Cyberpunk 2077 wouldn’t be a completely new development for the company. In actuality, they’ve done comparable re-releases for all of their prior AAA RPGs. The Witcher trilogy’s first two games were given Enhanced Editions, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was given a “Complete Edition” about a quarter of a century after it was first released in May 2015.
