New Pixel Fold

Fans have been expecting the Google Pixel Fold for quite some time. It will be the first foldable device from the company to join the ever-increasing folding phone market. Although it was expected to be announced at the Google I/O event, Google chose not to reveal the device and its specs.

News from 91mobiles reveals what fans should expect from the new foldable phone. In collaboration with Kuba Wojciechowski, they released display features and expected specifications of the alleged phone.

According to their reports, internally, the phones are called Felix and have a Samsung-made display for their internal and external screens. The phone is expected to feature an inward folding screen comparable to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. The resolution will be 1840 x 2209 and will measure 123mm x 148mm. It is also expected to have a peak brightness of up to 1200 nits and high refresh rates.

The alleged Pixel Fold will also likely house a triple camera system and come with a Sony IMX787 primary sensor. It may also include the IMX386 ultra-wide shooter and an S5K3J1 telephoto sensor. The selfie camera on this phone is expected to be an IMX355 sensor, and there is supposedly another placed in the inward folding screen. This camera is expected to be an S5K3J1 telephoto sensor.

The Google Pixel phone and tablet are also expected to use traditional fingerprint sensors after numerous complaints about the optical fingerprint sensors included in the Pixel 6 series. Many reported that it was unable to recognize the fingerprints accurately.

According to 91mobile, Google is testing two devices with fingerprint sensors in different configurations. The Y-aligned phones have sensors on the left or right hand, and the X-aligned have them at the top or bottom edge.

Considering the placements, the Y-aligned devices are most likely to be the Pixel Folds, and the X-aligned devices are the Pixel Tablets. The latter is expected to come with a display resolution of 2560 x 1600.
