The Vivo X90 and X90 Pro and the X90 Pro Plus were announced as Vivo’s brand new flagship phones. These were considered one of the best phones released by Vivo as they came with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and impressive cameras. This series was previously exclusive to the Chinese market but has now made its global debut. However, the Vivo X90 Pro Plus remains exclusive to China.
As the Vivo X90 Pro Plus is unavailable, the Vivo X90 Pro is the most premium phone you can buy from the company. It has an excellent array of cameras, including Sony’s 1-inch-type IMX989 camera sensor. According to Vivo, this is the largest sensor in the industry and beats most Android cameras to date. This sensor allows the Pro model to capture more light per pixel, meaning the images taken with it are brighter and have reduced noise levels.
One of the biggest selling points of the Vivo X90 series is its camera. The company touts its photography capabilities, and rightly so. The photosensitive area of the IMX989 sensor has been increased by 77%, and the white light intake capacity has increased by 43% compared to the sensor in the Vivo X80 Pro. This means there will be a massive difference in quality and brightness when comparing the photos taken by the two.
Alongside the Pro model, the base Vivo X90 model will also be released in the global market. Although it does not have the large camera sensor of the Pro model, it still has many of the same features. These include a large 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Mediatek Dimensity 9200 chipset, 120W wired charging, and a 32MP selfie camera. With both models, you get a balanced and fast charging mode depending on your requirements.
In the balanced mode, your phone will charge up in 29 minutes, while in the fast charging mode, your X90 Pro can reach 50 minutes in just 8 and 10 seconds. For the regular X90, it will take only 8 minutes. The main difference between the X90 and the X90 Pro is the battery and the camera. With the Pro model, you will enjoy a 4870mAh battery with 50W wireless support. If you own the regular Vivo X90, you will get a 4810mAh battery without wireless charging.
