Online rumors and leaks suggest that Xiaomi could significantly change their next generation of flagship phones, especially in the battery and camera department. Some leaks suggest that the Xiaomi 13 Pro’s camera will include a larger Sony sensor than its predecessor. The battery is expected to be much larger as well.
The information came from leaker Yogesh Bar, who claimed they know a great deal about the new phone that Xiaomi is planning to release. They stated that the Xiaomi 13 Pro would sport the same primary 50MP main sensor as the Xiaomi 12 Pro. However, the sensor could be Sony’s 1-inch IMX989 sensor found on the China-only Xiaomu 12S Ultra. Suppose Xiaomi decides to make the switch to a better camera. In that case, the photo quality of the new phone is bound to increase exponentially.
The switch in sensors will also make the camera better than the Xiaomi 12 Pro, which features Sony’s IMX707 sensor. The camera will also reportedly be powered by Xiaomi’s proprietary Surge C2 chipset, making it work better than its predecessor.
The battery of the new Xiaomi flagship is also supposed to be larger than that of the Xiaomi 12. Brar claims the phone will have a 4800mAh battery that will support 120W fast charging. Such a large battery paired with the Surge P2 chip is bound to make the phone extremely powerful. The older Xiaomi 12 Pro was shipped with a 4600mAh battery, so users are bound to see a longer battery life.
Besides these changes, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is expected to retain all the other specs from its predecessors. The screen is expected to be a 6.7-inch 2K LTPO display. There will be standard memory configurations with RAM up to 12GB and storage up to 512GB. The phone is also likely powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Within the many leaks of the phone’s specs, there is no information about when the phone will launch. However, based on the launch schedule of Xiaomi’s previous launches, it is safe to assume that the 13 Pro will launch around December.
