The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is a highly anticipated phone, and customers won’t have to wait too long for it since Xiaomu has revealed that they will be fully unveiling it on April 18 at 19:00 GMT+8. The new flagship is a successor to the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, a powerful smartphone. However, one of the major complaints was that the phone was region-specific and only available in China. With the Xiaomi 13, the company plans to push the limits technologically and geographically.
Lei Jun, the founder, and CEO of Xiaomi took to Twitter to reveal that they have listened to the masses and will be making the Xiaomi 13 Ultra available in global markets. The company also teased new details about the Xiaomi 13 Ultra to keep everyone interested ahead of its launch. As expected, the phone will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Additionally, Xiaomi plans to carry on its partnership with Leica, so the cameras on the new Ultra will likely be spectacular.
It is expected that Xiaomi will improve shooting motes and custom tuning modes, making the cameras even more customizable. The teased image from Xiaomi hints at a massive rear camera island encompassing the four rear cameras. The CEO also assured fans the phone would feature four cameras with 50MP sensors. One of them will be the 1-inch Sony IMX989, while the rest will be IMX858 sensors.
The massive 1-inch camera sensor will also feature variable aperture, ranging from f/1.9 to f/4.0. These cameras combined promise to offer exceptional images, night shooting capabilities, and support 8K video recording and various aperture lengths. The company has also confirmed that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will have an ultra-high polynomial lens design, new-gen high stability coating, and nano-meter-level precision to enhance your smartphone photography experience and standards.
The last update from the CEO revealed a new accessor for the phone: a camera grip. This is a useful and clever tactic to highlight the phone’s photographic capabilities. The phone is also expected to feature a large 6.7-inch Quad HD+ 120Hz AMOLED display and a 4900mAh battery. The battery will also have 90W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support. Xiaomi will ship the phone with its Android 13-based MIUI 14 out of the box.
